Middle School Events and Traditions at Villa
At Villa Academy, events and traditions are a cornerstone of our Middle School and All-School community. Here is a sampling of our community’s longstanding and most-loved traditions that hold special meaning for our students and faculty.
In the fall during our annual Buddy-Ballooza, each middle schooler is paired with a buddy from a younger grade. The pair of buddies meet several times during the school for a variety of activities. Middle school students have opportunities to be leaders as they read their favorite childhood stories to their buddies, accompany them in the annual Halloween parade, or play and organize a game of tag on the playground during recess. Buddies also work together to care for our campus during our EarthCorps Work Days.
7th & 8th Grade Dances
In collaboration with other local Catholic middle schools, our student council sponsors evening dances for 7th and 8th graders.
Annual 8th Grade vs Faculty Basketball Game
Each spring, the 8th grade class battles our faculty in a winner-take-all basketball game. This fun, lighthearted event is a fan favorite as younger students, faculty, and parents gather on the sidelines to root for their team.
Annual Spanish vs French Soccer Game
As the school year draws to an end, middle schoolers take to the field for the annual Spanish vs French soccer game.
