Perhaps you've heard of the "Three T's": Time, Talent, and Treasure. At Villa, we're lucky that our community gives abundantly of all three.
TIME AND TALENT
As school volunteers, Villa parents help in the classroom, coach teams, work in the lunchroom, raise funds, drive on field trips, tour prospective families, serve on committees and are elected to the Board of Trustees. We understand that many parents don't have a lot of time to volunteer, just know that we appreciate anything you can do. There are a wide variety of options, and not everything is a huge time commitment. Click here to view and sign up for various volunteer positions.
Why do we fundraise? Like most independent schools, Villa is a nonprofit 501c3 organization that, unlike public schools, receives no government monies. Independent schools are also people-and-program intensive places—we don't fire unproductive students, we give them more resources! If we charged the "real cost" for the educational experience we offer, we wouldn't be competitive in the marketplace. We hold only two school fundraisers, annual giving to The VillaNow Fund and the auction, and we ask everyone's participation in both. In 2014, our generous community contributed over $880,000 in support.
Villa parents are investors in our school, both financially and as volunteers. The return they receive is the development of their children in an environment that seeks to provide them with the best education possible: academically, socially, spiritually and physically.
