Congratulations to the Viking track team on a fine showing in the individual championships! A job well done for the kids and our wonder coaches, Geri Henling and Nikki Wagner. Best of luck to the Villa track team in the team championships on June 2nd!
Sixth grade students at Villa Academy had a chance to experience painting as Michelangelo once did in the Sistine Chapel. While Michelangelo built his own 66-foot scaffolding and had his paints and supplies hoisted up with a pulley system, Villa students stayed grounded, substituting the underside of their desks for the Sistine Chapel.
This week, Villa Academy eighth graders will assemble for the annual Spring Retreat. This is a chance for our students to step out of their busy routine for a full day of reflection, discussion and prayer at Magnuson Park.
The topics and activities planned for the day include a panel of recent Villa alumni, a discussion focused on healthy social decision making with Julie Metzger, a presentation from Officer Kevin O’Neill, and a capstone activity revisiting personal goals set at Leadership Camp. We are also pleased that Father Saur will join us to talk with the students about how their faith will serve them through the transition to high school.
Eighth graders have also been busy preparing activities for the day through their advisories. It promises to be an exciting opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences as a whole before the fast-approaching final days of the school year are upon us.
CYO Soccer Registration for next Fall is now open for all students in grades 1 through 8.
Deadline for registrations is Friday, June 1st.
IMPORTANT: The Soccer Registration packet includes ALL Annual CYO Forms. The additional forms are only collected once a year. Please complete the entire packet as this information is necessary for the new academic year 2012-20113.

Congratulations to Stephen, the recipient of the Community Service “Youth Challenge Award” presented by the Rotary Club of Lynnwood.
Close to 60 students were nominated for awards in the following categories: Community Service, Courage, Creativity, Environmental Service, Inspiration, Leadership and a Group Award.
Stephen earned the over all award for Community Service and was presented with a plaque, certificate and cash prize by Stan McKenzie and Tim Ryan of the Lynwood Rotary.
Villa Academy is so proud to see students like Stephen honor a spirit of service here at school, as well as out in the larger community.
Way to go Stephen!!
The Bubble Man visited the Villa Preschool today.
The Bubble Man’s Bubbleosophy
I bubbelieve that we the people are
just like bubbles.
We are all different shapes, colors and sizes,
just like bubbles
and some of us last longer than others,
just like bubbles…
and though our surface tensions may vary,
we all come from the same Source,
just like bubbles.
All bubbles come from joy.
All people come from Love, because only Love exists.
When we don’t know we come from Love,
we fall in Love.
When we realize we come from Love,
we rise in Love…
just like bubbles.
