EDP update fall 2011

Welcome to new and returning students and parents! EDP has been busy since day one working on craft projects, playing games, enjoying our late summer, and diving into homework.

Drop-Ins: EDP has limited space available per day for students. In order to staff appropriately it is essential, due to our licensing, that we are notified by noon of the day your child will be coming to EDP by emailing edp@thevilla.org. We cannot accommodate drop-ins without prior notification.

No School: There is no school on October 14th due to a Teacher Inservice day. EDP will be open 8am-5pm. You must pre-register by October 10

Study Hall will be open to all students in Grades 5-8 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 3:15-4:30pm. The cost will be $15/day.  If students in Grades 5-8 come to EDP on those days, they will be sent up to Study Hall and returned to EDP when Study Hall ends at 4:30pm.

Mondays: Pam Sprute’s Room 408
Tuesdays: Terry O’Donnell’s Room 401
Thursdays: Patty Hamilton’s Room 208

Registration for Enrichment Classes has begun. For all K-4 grade classes, check-in will be in the cafeteria where a snack will be provided. The instructors will then collect the students from the cafeteria. Any children not picked up on time after class will be brought down to the main EDP room 133.
Reminders:
For AM EDP, your child must be escorted to the Main EDP room 133 and be signed in by an adult. This is mandatory by Washington State Licensing. Children cannot sign themselves in.

EDP is a NUT FREE ZONE. Please do not bring outside food into the main EDP room 133 or the EDP homework room 125

Please contact edp@thevilla.org with any questions or if we can be of any assistance. The EDP team: Shea, Anne, Monte, & Natalie look forward to getting to know you and your children. We pride ourselves in providing a safe and fun place for your children to spend after school.

Sign Up for Middle School Green Team

Green Team

Green Team is a student-driven after-school club that explores issues of environmental stewardship, sustainability, and conservation such as food waste composting, recycling, energy use, and air quality. Students on the Green Team will participate in hands-on environmental science projects that include conducting research, gathering data, and analyzing and sharing results in order to establish lasting positive changes in our school and community. Moreover, on most days, the Green Team will work on projects that directly help serve the Villa community and thus, merit community service hours.

The Green Team is open to any students in grades 6-8 and meets regularly on Thursday afternoons immediately after school from 3:15 – 4:30 pm.

If you and your student are interested, please sign up for this trimester through the new EDP online registration site
