Letter From our Soccer Director:
My name is Cassidy Gray and I am the new Director of Coaching for soccer at Villa Academy. I want to let you all know about training opportunities this summer. If you are interested in signing up or would like more information please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
First and foremost, I will be hosting a summer camp at Villa from 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. during the weeks of August 19-23 and 26-30. I’ve opened a one week pre-registration period due to limited space available (60 spots total, 30 each week.) At least 40 spots have been reserved for Villa students and another 10 (already sold) have been reserved for some of my top students over the years. My intention for this is to ensure a skilled and mature foundation which I believe will set a good example for other campers.
In addition to the summer camp I will be running training sessions on campus Wednesdays from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. and Saturdays from 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.. These are hour sessions for all ages and group sizes range from 1-12. I highly recommend signing up with friends who have similar skill and ability levels.
Thanks, and I’ll see you on the pitch!
Soccer Coaches Needed
Soccer coaches for most grade levels are needed. Please send me an email or phone me 206-604-4347 if you are interested. I can discuss with you the CYO requirements and more. We will also have coaching clinics available from Cassidy before the season, dates to follow.

Villa Academy’s Green Team and S.E.R.T., together with the
Cascade Bicycle Club Education Foundation
invite you to join our team for
Bike to School Month
May is Bike to School Month, designed to encourage bicycle commuting, mentor new riders and foster a love of bicycling. When you bike to school you can:
- Help your child become a safe, knowledgeable and independent cyclist.
- Create daily exercise habits that help keep your child active and healthy.
- Reduce car traffic and air pollution!
Because every child cannot cycle safely ride to school, and because the “work” that kids do also includes sports, music lessons, trips to the library, play dates, etc., trips for Bike to School Month can include any trip made by bicycle somewhere he or she needs to go, one round-trip per day. Other traffic reducing alternatives such as walking or carpooling with another family are also welcome if bicycling is not possible. Please circle which specific activity you complete each day on the calendar.
Everyone who participates at least once wins a prize based on their level of participation! Participants who bike are eligible for prizes from the Cascade Bicycle Club.
Reduce your carbon footprint by participating with Villa!
It’s easy! Download the Bike to School Calendar and track each day that you ride, walk or carpool. Turn in your completed calendar to the Main Office ATTN: Ms. Jenner by Monday, June 3. We’ll add your trips to our school total and deliver your prizes.
The Villa Board of Trustees wants to thank you, our entire parent community, for generously volunteering your time, your talent, and your treasure that have supported the school in so many ways this year.
Please join us for an adults-only Dos de Mayo fiesta on Thursday, May 2, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the covered play court. We’ll have a taco truck, beer, margaritas…and fun, of course. Come and mingle with fellow parents and chat with Board Members. We’re celebrating YOU, so don’t miss it!
Join us on Monday, April 29, 7-8:30 p.m. at Villa Academy for a presentation by Amy Lang. Amy, a well-known parent educator, therapist, and author, will discuss three simple tips that even smart parents need to take the sting out of the Birds and the Bees talk. You will learn how to start and continue the conversation. You will understand better why your parents’ approach may not have been successful and how you can do it differently. You will leave the discussion feeling more confident and inspired to keep the conversation going. This event is free and open to the public.
We look forward to welcoming Grandparents to Villa Academy on Friday, May 10. The day will begin with Mass at St. Bridget at 9am followed by a reception, classroom visits and more fun at Villa. Please see the Grandparent Day Invite for all the details and to RSVP.
We are so proud of our Villa preschoolers who not only met, but surpassed the goal of their recent Coins for a Cause service project! The preschoolers raised a total of $2,759.85 (their goal was $1,500) for the Wuqu’ Kawoq Maya Health Alliance to provide food and medicine for Levi, a severely malnourished Guatemalan baby with congenital deformities of his hands and feet.
Dr. Peter reported that Levi has already gained quite a bit of weight and they are very happy with his progress. You can see the difference in his “before and after” pictures to the left.
Great job, preschoolers!

This Friday is “Wear Your Favorite Color” free dress for all LOWER SCHOOL students. However, in order to earn the privilege of an extra free dress day, students need to bring in one of the following needed items for the St. Bridget Food Pantry to their homeroom: canned tuna fish or chicken, peanut butter, sun butter, or a box of cereal. Of course, students are also welcome to wear their regular uniform.
