Choosing a Villa Academy education for your child represents a significant investment in your child’s future. We also recognize that for some families a private school education is also a significant financial investment.
Villa Academy offers need-based financial assistance to families who qualify. Financial assistance is awarded in the form of grants, which do not need to be paid back. All financial aid awards are based solely upon the family’s need as determined by the Financial Aid Committee. All information submitted is confidential and is used solely to arrive at a fair determination of financial need. Need is defined as the difference between the tuition cost of attending Villa Academy and a family’s calculated ability to pay.
Financial aid awards are made on the assumption that your family is allocating the maximum amount of resources to the educational costs of your children, after meeting necessary expenses. If your family’s circumstances change after submitting the financial aid application, please contact the Admission Office.
Financial Aid Process and Timeline
Villa Academy uses the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) from the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) to assist in the process of awarding Financial Aid. A PFS application may be completed online at http://sss.nais.org.
In addition to the PFS, Villa Academy requires signed copies of the last two years’ income tax forms with all schedules and supporting documents, and a signed copy of IRS form 4506. Villa cannot process financial aid applications without these documents in hand.
It is the responsibility of the parents to submit the PFS and necessary forms according to Villa Academy’s deadlines in order for financial aid decisions to be made in a timely order.
- Parent’s Financial Statement (PFS) to SSS Deadline: February 7, 2013
- Tax Forms to SSS Deadline: March 7, 2013
Step 1 (to be completed November – March):
Complete a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) online no later than February 7, 2013. Please print a copy for your personal records.
Step 2: Submit the following tax documents by March 7, 2013
(These can be uploaded to the SSS website or printed and sent to the Admission Office)
- Signed copy of 2012 Tax Returns (1040) along with all W-2 forms and all supporting schedules.
- Families who are applying for Financial aid for the first time must also include copies of their 2011 tax documents as well.
- Signed 4506 form. Please complete lines 1-4 only. In the event that Villa Academy needs to submit this form to the IRS, Villa will pay the $57 fee.
- If you own a business or farm, please complete a Business/Farm statement. Please complete one statement for each business you own and submit a copy of your corporate taxes and schedules by the March 7, 2013 deadline.
Please adhere to the PFS and tax form deadlines that Villa has put in place. Without the requested forms we will be unable to process your request for financial aid. Notification of financial aid awards will be mailed to new applicant families in mid-March and to returning families in mid-May.
Financial Aid is a confidential process that is conducted separately from the Admission process. If you have special circumstances, need assistance completing the PFS forms, or if you have questions regarding the financial aid process, please contact the Admission Office at Villa Academy at firstname.lastname@example.org or 206-527-9388.
